Mnngnpelii. —At a recent meeting, arrangements wero finalised for a "husbands' evening," also for a dance to be held in October to raise funds for a wireless to bo installed in the public hospital. A demonstration on "wreath making" was given by Mrs. Jones, a new member, after which the time was spent in community singing. The husbands' evening was a great success. After the president's welcome community singing and a song competition were held. Two plays wero given, "Mechanical Jane" and "Snowed up with a Duchess," also competitions and a piano solo. Supper was provided by members. Taupiri.—The monthly meeting, presided over by Mrs. L. E. Clarke, was well attended. Delegates to the Taupiri group meeting gave their report. Gardening talks were W Mesdames A. J. Smith and-S. Clarke, and notes compiled by Mrs. C. Williams were read. Mrs. J. Farrell won the competition for the best posy. Mrs. Sadler and the Misses M. and D. Sadler were farewelled by members, and Mrs. Sadler was presented with a bouquet of anemones. Gleu Massey.—Mrs. Tanfield prosided over a very good attendance of members, three new ones being welcomed. Delegates gave their report of the Taupiri group meeting. A written competition, "Trees," was won by Miss J. Bowen. A cooking competition, "Plate of Home-Made Sweets," was won by Mrs. It. Lees. A very interesting talk was given by Miss B. Henry on the work of the British and Foreign Bible Society.
