Pianoforte, grade ]I.: Mary Stewart. Lower division: S. Webster (distinction). Elementary: Joy Crosby (honourable mention), C. Anderton, Eileen Ryan. Primary: Edward Howarth, Joan Simpson (honourable mention), Peggy Edwards, Frances Munroe, Zeta Oliver (violin), (pass). Preliminary: Kathleen Page, Eileen Pago. NGARUAWAHIA PASSES SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES The following aro the results of the practical examinations conducted at Ngaruawnhia Convent by Mr. Michael Head, examiner of the Associated Hoards of the Royal Schools of Music, London: —Grado VIII.: Patricia Jew. Grade III.: Brian Jew (honourable mention), Yolande Brown, Kathleen Gordon. Grade 11.., distinction: Mary Olivor. Pass: Terence Jew (violin Grade I.: June McCarthy. At the examinations conducted by Mr. E. Lowe, examiner of Trinity College, the following were successful: — Intermediate (violin): Kevin Feeney (merit), Adrienne Jew. Advanced Preparatory: Delia Ray (merit), Patricia Porteous. Preparatory elocution: Yolande Brown (merit), Douglas Holmes. First steps: Thelma Zimmerman, Nora Cairns. Initial (honours): Pamela Welsh (merit), Valerie Roake. The results of the Trinity College of Music theoretical examinations are: — Higher local merit: Kathleen Hunter, 76. Senior merit: Patricia Jew, 78. Junior honours: Adrienne Jew, 100. Preparatory honours: June McCarthy, 89.
