1 SHORTAGE IN COUNTRY. / FARMERS' UNION INTEREST £by telegraph—own correspondent] NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday "If a young man takes up farm work ho is practically condemning himself to Binglc blessedness," said Mr. Bayliss, a n ember of the South Taranaki Farmers' Union executive, when the executive was discussing the shortage of proper accommodation for workers in the rural areas of laranaki. Mr. W. A. Sbcat, the president, said the Government should give immediate attention to the housing problem in the country, where it was much more pressing than in the cities. The executive delayed representations to the Government until replies have been received to its cjuestiomnaire on the farm labour situation, the two subjects being closely related.
