BUILDING AT NAPIER
ACTIVITY IN HOUSES Exceptional activity in house-build-ing has been in evidence in Napier during the first part of the present financial year, and 40 dwellings have been erected since tho beginning of April The development of tho now suburb of Marowa has exercised a definite influence on the position, hut there has also been a marked movement in the town area itself, ft was stated by Mr. I'!. Grant, building inspector to tho Napier Borough Council, that November and December almost, invariably brought a slackening in the erection of houses, but January and February were usually responsible for a distinct revival, with a further slackoning-off as the end of the financial year approached. "However," he added, "there is every prospect from present indications of a bumper year being experienced."
