VISIT TO DOMINIONS SOUTH AUSTRALIA CENTENARY (Received October 1, 6.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Sept. 30 With the approval of the Dominions Secretary, Mr. Malcolm Mac Donald, the Permanent Under-Secretary for Dominion Affairs, Sir Edward Harding, has accepted an invitation from the Government of South Australia to at-

tend the Centenary celebrations in Adelaide in December. Arrangements have also been made for Sir Edward to make a short stay in New Zealand on his way out and to spend a few days in the Commonwealth capital and in other Australian States. He will return to London early m February. During the absence of Sir Edward, Sir Harry Batterbee will act as Permanent Under-Secretary. Sir Edward John Harding lias been Permanent Secretary of State to the Dominions Office since 1930. Born in 1880, Sir Edward joined the Board of Trade in 1903 after a brilliant career at Oxford. He was transferred to the Colonial Office the following year. He is also a barrister.
