FARM WAGES
Sir,—Now that the Agricultural Workers Bill has become law, will you please advise me as to the position of the married couples engaged in larm work. The man receives 1:3 per week, but what does his wife get for helping occasionally or full time with the milking? Is she to give her services merely for love of the game? This is a point which seems to have been entirely overlooked by the Hon. H. T. Armstrong when framing the bill. Puzzled.
[No distinction has been made in the legislation between male and female workers. The official view is that if a woman assists in the milking shed she is an agricultural worker and entitled to the rate of pay provided for in the Act. J
