REAL ESTATE INSTITUTE
PROGRESS DURING YEAR A substantial increase in membership is shown in the report to bo submitted to the annual meeting of the Auckland branch of tho Boal Estate Institute of Now Zealand. While the roll lor the 1934-35 period stood at 127, it is now 140. "It, is gratifying to record such a substantial increase, but it must be borne in mind that the real estate business is particularly subject to fluctuation and membership figures, to a groat extent, reflect the trend of the market," the report states.
Pleasure is expressed at the fact that a few candidates are sitting for the institute examinations again this year. Of six candidates last year, four obtained full "passes and one a partial pass.
Owing to the mass of legislation affecting property owners that has been passed during the year, the practice of real estate agency has boon difficult, it is stated, but a fair turnover lias been experienced in all classes of business.
