FASHIONS IN CURTAINS

Three simple schemes for dressing cottage windows are sketched,, The first features natural colour curtains spotted with red, with tho colourings of the material reversed, red spotted with natural, for the scalloped pelmet. The second is designed for a " frilly " room, and employs pale peach-coloured organdie with terra-cotta, tan or chest-nut-brown chintz, which is box-pleated as edgings, box-pleated for the pelmet, and holds the draperies in position. For a seaside cottage, curtrlins in rather deep blue linen aro bound with white, and tho deep blue pelmet is cut away to show white over-lacod with navy blue. Curtains and pelmet might be navy blue and off-white and the lacing red, if preferred.
