FAREWELL AT HUNTLY

A farewell social was held in the Huntly School of Mines for Miss Betty Aukl, who is leaving Huntly shortly to live in Otaliuhu. There was a large Slathering of young people present and during the evening Miss M. Curnow made a presentation of a chromium bedroom clock and expressed regret at the guest's departure. Mr. F. Auld, on behalf of his daughter, expressed appreciation and thanks. Mr. S. Bartrum entertained tho gathering with a recitation and Mr. J. A. Malcolm with a conjuring trick. Dancing followed. Among those present were: Mesdames F. Auld, H. Curnow, S. Bennett, D. Craigie, Misses B. Auld, M. Curnow, M. Smith, I. Atkin (Waikokowai), M. Mclnally, M. Harris, J. Ruston, J. Bronklebank, B. White, I. Douglas, G. Smith, T. Bryant, P. Harris, E. Kerl'oot, M. White (Auckland), J. Thomas (Glen Afton), D. Northmore, H. Dodds, J. Chisholm.
