APPEAL AGAINST RULING COURT RESERVES DECISION [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Wednesday The Appeal Court to-day heard the case of Walter Robert Boyd, of Putaruru, who in August was found] guilty by a jury at Hamilton of receiving a number of truck tyres, valued at £l2l Bs. During the hearing of the case the Crown desired to call evidence to show that certain , cigarette tobacco obtained by theft had been found in accused's possession, but to this accused's counsel raised an objection. The Judge, however, ruled that the evidence was admissible, but deferred sentence pending the determination by the Court of Appeal of the case stated for its opinion by Mr. Justice Fair on this point. Decision was reserved.
