HOUSE RENT REDUCED

CERTAIN REPAIRS NEEDED RULING BY MAGISTRATE [BY TELEGRAM —PRKSS ASSOCIATION"] WELLINGTON, Wednesday In a reserved judgment to-day, Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., reduced the rent of certain premises from £2 7s 6d a week to either 30s or £2 a week, according to whether certain minor repairs are eilected by October 12. Mr. Luxford said the Court could properly give effect to the Act in cases where a house was not in proper repair by making an appropriate specified reduction in the weekly rental, a new order being granted when the repairs were effected. The tenant in this particular case was justified in complaining about a number of small matters. Tho magistrate therefore ordered a special reduction of rent until the repairs are effected.
