[BT TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WAIROA, Wednesday A strike among the men employed on the construction of the Mohaka viaduct was threatened this week, bot did not eventuate. Some trouble arose at the camp owing to a demand by the men actually engaged on the riaduct for what is known as " height money." and the men communicated with Wellington. So far, however, the request has not been granted. A meeting representative of all sections of the workers on the viaduct was held at tbe week-end, and from what cciuld be ascertained it was expected that the men would cease work on Monday. It is now learned that they are to wait until the visit of the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, to the district, when they will put their case before him.
