SWIMMING UNION

Developments toward the union of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, the New Zealand Head Centre of the Royal Life-Saving Society and tho New Zealand Surf Life-Saving Association have reached an advanced stage in Wellington and Chri'stchurch. The proposal has been considered at several meetings, and so far there has been no opposition. The scheme is the outcome of a suggestion made by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, who, when interviewing a deputation from the Surf Life-Saving Association, which was seeking a Government grant, advised the three bodies to federate in order to approach the Government with a combined front.
