TAKAPUNA LAWN TENNIS
SUCCESSFUL DANCE HELD j I A very enjoyable dance was held by the social committee of the Takapuna Lawn Tennis Club in the Takapuna Boating Club hall, Bayswater, on Saturday night. The hall was hung with clusters of balloons, which were released later in the evening, and the stago was arranged with bowls of Iceland poppies. The same flowers were used effectively in the supper room, where they adorned tho long tables. There was a very largo attendance and the guests were received by the president, Sir. F. E. Sutherland, and Sirs. Sutherland, who was wearing a frock of kingfisher blue taffetas and a black chiffon velvet coat. Sir. H. J. Barrett was in charge of the floor arrangements. The ladies' social committee comprised:—Sirs. E. Everiss (honorary secretary), who wore mulberry pink crepon; Sirs. A. Hutchings, black applique lace; Mrs. W. Roberts, black floral crepe; Sirs. E. Thomas, black flowered crepon and gold lame; Sliss Beth Swanston, cardinal red tinsel cloque; Sliss Slinna Yarnton, sea green moss crope; Miss Slarjorie Brett, Slargaret Rose novelty crepe; Sliss Betty Brindle, cameo pink taffetas; Sliss Sloira Slowbray, primrose floral taffetas. Among thoso present were: —Sirs. H. J. Barrett, who wore pillarbox red crepe; Sliss H. Gauntlett, tilly lace; Sirs. Norman White, midnight blue chiffon velvet; Sirs. E. 0. Lyell, white cloque; Sliss Virginia Carney, blue checked net; Sliss Jean Gray, pink taffetas and black velvet; Sliss Slilicent SlcNeil, lacquer red taffetas; Sliss Peggy Hutchings, blue moire shot with flame; Sliss Joyce Keane, Chinese red crepe suede; Sliss Slarjorie Slartin, golden glow taffetas; Sliss Slargaret Bartrum, azure blue moire; Sliss Valorie Thompson, bottle green taffetas; SJUss Slarion Royston, lemon crepe suede; Sliss Gwen Slorgan, royal blue crepe; Sliss Nathalie Newton, bottle green novelty crepe; Sliss Gwen Forgio, phlox pink organdie; Sliss Dorothy Kelly, celeste blue shot taffetas; Sliss SI. Pedlar, lobelia blue cellophane stripe crepe; Sliss Ruth Harvey, electric blue tinsel cloque; Sliss Lorna Goddard, green net over violet taffetas; Sliss Trixie Goddard. carnation pink souple satin; Sliss Barbara Board, Lido blue chiffon velvet; Sliss Betty Goddard, daffodil moss crepe; Sliss E.
