Fastest time: J. Bicknell. PUKEKOHE CLUB [krom our own corkkspondkxt] PUKEKOHE. Saturday Excellent weather conditions favoured a 45-miles road race held today by the Fukekohe Cycle Club. The course was from lukekohe to tho Te Kauwhata turn-off on the Great South Road, near Rangirin, and back. There were seven starters, of whom five finished. ~ ~ Tho result was as follows: —J. McClcan. 2h 20m 60s, 1; B. Clausen, 2h 25m 28s, 2: P. Landon, 2h 30m 355, 3. EVENT AT HAMILTON [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday There was an entry of 49 for a 50 miles road race held yesterday by the Hamilton Amateur Sports Club. Several competitors were forced to retire owing to minor accidents. Three riders struck a cow near Cambridge, one being temporarily disabled. Auckland Manukau, Hamilton, To Awamutu, Rotorua and Cambridge Clubs were represented. Results were as follows: —R. McOnic (Hamilton), 1; C. Wild (Hamilton), 2; J. Rogers, 3; C. McOnie (Hamilton), 4; G. Key worth (Rotorua), 5. C. Cochrane, of Auckland, covered the distance in the fastest time. Ih 59m 31s. to beat the previous record held by L. Pwight, also of Auckland, by over 6m. Trophies were presented to the successful competitors.
