RACE IN AUSTRALIA 100 MILES CHAMPIONSHIP (Received September 0, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Sept. 0 In the Australian and New Zealand cycling championship (100 miles) to-day, the placings were:—Lloyd, 1; Moritz, 2; Stilrbenrauch (Victoria), 3. Time, 4h 58m 4(is. The two New Zealand competitors did not finish. H. G. Watson (scratch) experienced troublo in the hilly sections and dropped out 33 miles after the start. A. N. Ralston was on a seven minutes' handicap, and dropped out early. Lloyd won by two miles. AUCKLAND CLUB Junior and senior races were held by the Auckland Cycle Club on Saturday over the Panmure circuit. Fields were well up to the usual standard, there being 37 starters in all. Results arc as follows: Seniors.—S. Weller (3m), 50m 325, 1; G. Hall «jm 2; T. Hedlund (6m 455), 3; H. Enderby (5m 455), 4. S. Weller also recorded fastest timo. Juniors. —P. Collier (3m 20s), 31m 21s, 1; J. Need ham (lm), 2; B. Collier (2m 40s)„ 3; L. Cunningham (3m), 4. D. Banks, scr, recorded fastest time in 28m 58s. GLOUCESTER CLUB The Gloucester Cycle Club held a 24-miles race from Wallace Road, Mangero, on Saturday, results being as follows: —It. Shearing (lm 30s), 77m, 1; J. Bicknell (lm), 76m 555, 2; J. Sheahan (lm 30s), 77m ss, 3. Fastest time: J. Bicknell.
