SOUTH AUCKLAND TITLE VICTORY TO T. MORPETH R. D. HARDING'S GOOD ROUND [l'IlOM OUII OWN CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON, Sunday The South Auckland championship tournament was concluded yesterday afternoon. A high wind was still blowing and frequent showers made conditions difficult, but the greens and fairways were in wonderful condition. The championship was won by T. Morpeth, of tho Titirangi Club, from J. Pountney, a young member of the Hamilton Club. Pountney squared the game at the fifteenth, but Morpeth won the sixteenth and the last two holes were halved, leaving Morpeth the winner, 1. up. The St. Andrews handicap match was won by R. D. Harding, the local club champion, who beat a club-mate, A. Marcroft, 4 and 2. The winner went round in 72, one under the scratch score, the only time that SO was beaton throughout the three days. Following are the results of the final day's play:— South Auckland Championship.—Semifinals: J. Pountney (Hamilton) beat 0. Hotson (Otorohanga), 3 and 1; T. . Morpeth (Titirangi) beat 0. B. Wake (Hamilton), at the 20th.

Final.—Morpeth beat Pountney, 1 up. St. Andrews Match. —Semi-finals: A. Marcroft (Hamilton) beat W. 11. Fleet (Te Aroha), 4 and 2; R. D. narding (Hamilton) beat L. 11. Norton (Maungakiekie), 4 •and 3.

Final. —Harding beat Marcroft, 4 and 2. Following are tho best scores returned in the morning medal handicap:—F. Fisher (Hunterville), 80, 0—71; 0. B. Wake (Hamilton), 81, 8—73; R. J. Love (Hamilton). 8:i, i)— 74; A. Marcroft (Hamilton), S7, 11 —7<i; W. S. Goosman (Morrinsville), 89, L3—70.
