CRASH IN NEW MEXICO
AMERICAN FLIER INJURED MACHINE A TOTAL WRECK (Received August 31, 5.5 p.m.) 1 LOS AiS'GELES; August 30 The well-known American airman, Colonel Roscoe Turner, was flying from the Pacific coast to New York to-day when he crashed neir Gallup, New Mexico. He broke two ribs and wrenched his back. The aeroplane was completely destroyed. . 1 :« Colonel Roscoe Turner competed in the Melbourne Centenary air race in October, 1934, frith 0. Pangborn. They were third in the npeed event, but gained second prize because the Dutch pilots Parmentier and Moll, who finished second, were not entitled to two prizes. Colonel Turner hasi several speed records to his credit.
