GARDENING CIRCLE

"Odds and Ends of Plant-naming" was the subject of a lecture given by Mr. W. A. Given at the meeting of the Whangarei Ladies' Gardening, Club, over which Mrs. J. A.. Inkster presided. The lecturer described the strange derivations of family names, and the chief characteristics of the different orders. The means of identifying a new plant were also given in detail. The hostesses were Mesclames S. B. Dunn, J. >T. Fraser, D. J. Fraser ; H. 0. Fraser, D. Q. Fraser and R. S. Finch.
