WEDDINGS

HULL—TOPHAM A wedding of interest was celebrated in the Temuka Presbyterian Church (South Canterbury), when Mavis Evelyn Fernah, only daughter of Mr. W. C. Topham, of Springfield Road, Temuka, and of the late Mrs. Topham, was married to Robert Wallace, younger son of Mr. It. Hull, of Epsom Avenue, Auckland, and the late Mrs. Hull. The Ilev. W. McNeur, of Pleasant Point, performed the ceremony, and Miss F. Cain was the organist. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a go'vn of ivory needlerun silk lace with a faggoted floral design in the train. Her veil was of embroidered tulle and was held in place by a bandeau of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of bouvardias, hyacinths and azaleas. Attending the bride were Miss Joyce Topham (cousin). Miss Muriel Hull (sister of the bridegroom), and Miss Hazel Harris. Each wore a frock of prunus pink needlerun lace trimmed with deeper pink. Their bandeaux were of pink velvet flowers and they carried posies of pink sweet peas. The little flower girl, Hilda Dickie, wore an ankle-length frock of pink frilled net, and a bandeau 6f pink velvet. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Eric Levesque, of Cambridge, as best mail. The two groomsmen were Mr. Jack La wry, of To Awamutu, and Mr. Keith Topham. After Tiie ceremony a reception was held in the Presbyterian Hall, where the guests were received by Mr. W. C. Topham and Mrs. J. W. Topham, aunt of the bride. Mrs. Topham wore a smart navy ensemble and carried a bouquet oi red shaded flowers. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Hull will make their home at Waipu. North Auckland.

JOHNSTON E—SANFORD

At St. George's Church, Frankton, the marriage took place on Saturday of Graham Alexander Johnstone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Campbell Johnstone, Wliatawhata, to Miss Doreen Henrietta Sanford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ai G. Sanford, Lake Road, Hamilton. Ihe choral service was conducted by the Rev. R. J. Boyt, and the wedding music was played by Mr. Alp. The bride» entered the \jhureh with her father, wore a charming gown of ivory magnolia satin. Cut on slim fitting lines, the corsage, which was- beaded back and front in silver crystal and pearls, was made with a high neckline and long sleeves slit to the elbow. The skirt, which fitted closely over the hips, fell away to form a train. Her veil of tulle was embroidered and caught to the head a circle of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of white orchids, cyclamen, carnations and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Miss Norma Sanford (Christchurch), sister of the bride, Miss Magot Beale (Hamilton) and Miss Mary Manden (Auckland), were frocked alike 'in gold cire satin cut on slimfitting lines. Their head-dresses were of natural flowers, npd each carried a sheaf of lilies and magnolias in shades of white, cyclamen and petunia. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. David Johnstone (Wliatawhata) as best man and by Mr. ITloth Johnstone (Wliatawhata *) and Mr. J. Cameron (Auckland} as groomsmen. After the ceremony a reception was held in the State Wintergarden, where Mrs. Sanford received her guests, wearing a gown of parchment lace over brown taffetas and hat to tone. She carried a posy of violets and primroses. Mrs. Campbell Johnstone, mother of the bridegroom, wore a gown of cyclamen embossed velvet relieved with' silver grey and matching hat.
