ANNUAL MEETINGS HELD HAMILTON CONGREGATIONS f FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON, Thursday Renovations carried out during the year were reviewed at the annual meeting of the Knox Presbyterian Church, of Hamilton. The Rev. H. J. Lilburn presided. It was reported that a new organ had been secured, while heating arrangements in the church had been improved upon. Generous gilts from supporters of the parish included a now communion table and covering for the choir floor. The following retiring managers were re-elected: Messrs. J. Graham (Horsham Downs), P. Matheson (Rototuna), G. S. Clark and W. Simpson (Hamilton Knox Church). Two new members, Messrs. R. M. Maunder (Gordonton), and E. Henderson (Horsham Downs), were elected. There was a <n>od attendance of parishioners at tlio annual meeting last evening of the First Church, Frankton, the Rev. S. J. Atkins presiding. The financial statement revealed that the assets stood at £2705 and the liabilities at £I6(W, leaving a credit balance of £lß*l2. The receipts for the year totalled £65!), comprising Collections, £.'M5), and the remainder in income from other church organisations, and donations. A sum of £llß had been raised in an endeavour to liquidate the John Ramsay loan of £250. The report eulogised the work of the Ladies' Guild in raising £BO. Of recent years there had been a decline in the membership of the church owing to many parishioners leaving the district, and in consequence many of the activities had been curtailed. Satisfactory reports concerning the a (fairs of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church were received at the annual meeting of the congregation last evening. The Rev. 1?. It. Grant Sutherland described the congregation as being in good heart, and said that good work was being done. He mentioned that Hie mid-week meetings had not boon attended. The session clerk, Mr. C. L MaoDiarniid. reported that tliero wore communicants on tho roll. The management committee advised that. £125 bad been paid off the church debt during the year. The Melville committee had liquidated its mortgage. The following were elected to the management committee: —Dr. H. Doug las, Messrs. G. Roves, G. Clovcly, G. Moore, W. J. McMikou and D. A. Sellar.
