CONCRETE PIPES DAMAGED EFFECT OF SUDDEN SURGE [BY TKLEGKAFI1 —PRESS ASSOCIATION] HOKITIKA, Friday A length of 600 ft. of reinforced concrete pipes carrying the Hokitika borough water supply were damaged vcstcrday. Some of the pipes were badly broken and others were cracked. Tho pipes w'ere in the bush, a mile from Lake Kanieri. It has been established that tho damage was due To a water surge when the water was turned back lower down the race.
