CLUB COMPETITIONS MATCHES AT MIDDLEMORE COLTMAN CUP SEMI-FINALS Conditions for golf on Saturday, when competitions wero continued by tho various local clubs, were excellent and good scoring was general. A four-ball bogey was played at Middlemore and I?. D. Horton and P. A. Nathan won easily with a card of 9 up. Horton commenced well and Nathan had a great run in tho middle stages. The pair combined splendidly over the last nine. Nathan finishing with two wins. S. G. McCoy and S. H. Abel finished 6 up. a score which would usually win and three pairs returned cards of 6 up. A trial was given at Titirangi to an aggregate four-ball bogey competition, the winners being J. Griersoji and E. W. Yates. E. Olilson and E. Tonks tied with J?. B. Carr and W. J. Reid for second place. Of chief interest at Akaranji were the semi-finals of tho match-play event for the Coltnian Cup. C. E. Cammick played splendid golf to defeat A. Howey Walker at the 16th, while K. C. Ward beat J. S. Wiseman by a big margin. Ward played scratch golf to the turn and although he finished the round in a creditable "9, he would probably have done even better if pressed. S. Bryant won the Stableford bogey match and lie was followed by J. E. Mitchell.

By defeating L. J. Minogue in the semi-final of the captain's prize at North Shore, M. Fraser-Smith w ill now meet H. C. Stevens in the final. Matches in the second round of the Jubilee Cup competition were decided, most of the names being evenly contested. H. J. Preston was the winner of a bogey match in which the scoring was not quite as good as usual. The club championship at Pupuke is gearing completion, last year's winner, Johnston, being beaten by H. Nicholas, who will now meet the winner of the match between R. Pacev and W. D. Ross. By defeating P. Andrew and A. K. Andrew respectively, H. A. Craig and C. H. Palmer have reached the final of the junior championship. C. Jarmnn and M. T. Wilson were the successful pair in a four-ball bogey at Maungakiekie, H. Tidmarsh and A. E: Winstone and D. Macfarlane and G. Philson being the runners-up. The Waitemata Club made a start with its championships and at Otahuhu the second qualifying round was completed, H. Bell, the title-holder, leading the seniors. With three rounds of the Howey Walker Cup competition completed the position at Glendowie is interesting. J. Cameron is leading by one stroke and a similar margin separates R. K. Davis and J. G. Beale. AUCKLAND CLUB A fou. hall bogey match was played hy members of the Auckland Golf Club on the Middlemore links on Saturday, when conditions were good. Following were the best cards returned: —R. D.
