AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP The Auckland amateur provincial billiards championship for the Hillards, Limited, Shield will be commenced in Messrs. Billiards, Limited, showrooms, Strand Arcade, to-night. Saturday The final games in Ihe South Auckland billiards championship were played at Cobb's saloon last night. In the semi-final S. Tierney. of Tauranga, defeated N. McGarvey. of Rotorua, by 500 points to 321. The final between Tierney and R. Karati, of Rotorua. was won by the former by over 200 points, tho winner's best breaks being 38. 35. 4P and G4.
