PLANTING A TREE

KING'S COLLEGE FUNCTION LINK WITH THE OLD BOYS «> Another tree was added yesterday to tho line of birch trees which borders the playing-field of the King's College, Middlemore, when the president of the Old Boys' Association, Mr. A. B. Ramger, planted a tree which will bear his name and the year of his office. The ceremony was attended by the masters and boys of tho college and representatives of the Old Boys' Association. The headmaster, Mr. J. N. Peart, urged the boys now at tbe school to join up with the Old Boys' Association immediately after leaving school and to continue to take a live interest in the school and its affairs. A similar appeal was made by Mr. Rainger, who stressed tho fact that the younger members of the association had full representation on the executive, and that increased membership would enable the association to extend its social work. It was in the latter sphere that old boys could do most to add to the good reputation of the school. Ho congratulated the boys on their headmaster, who had in a short time identified himself with every activity of the school and its old boys.
