CHILDREN'S DANCE
PRESENTATION MADE 'lhero was a great variety of costumes to be seen at the children's fancy dress ball held at Titoki recently. Mr. L. jR. Hunt, the headmaster, assisted by Miss Porter, was in charge of the children. The judges were Mrs. W. Jones, Mayoress of Whangarei, and Mrs. Clarke, who awarded the following prizes:—Posters, Ruth Reid; girls (original), "Dionne Party," the Courtney children; boys (original), "Charlie Chaplin," Max Soich; girls (fancy), "Carnival," Margaret Brake; special, "Doll in Box," Marie Hunt. Special prizes donated by Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Clarke were awarded as follows: "Little Bo Peep," Audrey Alexander; "Little Boy Blue," Betty Alexander; "Riverhead Gold," Sarah Kay; "Little Dutch Boy," Beryl Hunt; "Jockey," Barry Alexander. During the evening the chairman, Mr. W. X. Jack, presented Mr. F. J. Smith with an illuminated address as a memento of his period of ollice. Mr. Smith was chairman of the school committee for 2G years, and for many years was chairman of the hall committee.
