DEMPSTER AGAIN BATS WELL LANCASHIRE BEATS KENT LONDON, August 7 The New Zealander, Dempster, again scored well for Leicestershire against Notts in the latest series of country matches which ended to-day. The match, however, was won by Notts 011 the first innings. Kent, which is cne of the leading sides, was defeated by Lancashire. Kent in its second innings declared vith thre« wickets in hand, leaving Lancashire with 211 to win and this w.ts accomplished for the loss of only five wickets. Middlesex topped the scores with >llO against Gloucestershire. \V. 11. Webster and 12. llendren each contributed a century. The results of the inatuies are as loilowa: — SURREY V. INDIAN TOURING TEAM MATCH WITH GLOUCESTER (ltcceived August !>, r>.r> p.m.) LONDON, August H The match between the fndian touring team and Gloucester opened today and the visitors in their first innings scored 151. Sin field took four wickets for 38 run 3. At the close of play Gloucester had lost three wickets for 117 The prevnus match with Warwickshire was drawn. The county made 181 and 21U for three wickets, declared. India scored in the first innings 2ii> (Dilwar Jlussain tot not out) Mayer took four wickets for 18. In the second innings India had scored 51 for three wickets when stumps were drawn.,
