BUTTER STEADY

NO CHANGE IN PRICES LIMITED FORWARD BUSINESS BASIS OF 120/- PER CWT. New Zealand butter is selling on the London market unchanged at 118s per cwt. Rates for cheese also are practically the same at lip to G-'ss per cwt. for white and 02s for coloured. Both markets arc steady. A limited amount of forward business in butter has been done on a finest basis of Is 2Jd per lb. f.0.b., which is equal to 120s per cwt., London. Merchants have received the following reports, dated July 24, from their Loudon principals: Allen and Findlay, Limited, from Armour and Company, Limited. —Butter: The market is firm. Now Zealand salted and unsalted, 117s to 118s; Australian, 117s; Danish, 1275. Cheese: The market is steady. New Zealand, white, 62s to 635; coloured, 61s to 625; Canadian, 60s 6d. A. H. Turnbull and Company, Limited, from W. Weddel and Company, Limited.—Butter: Danish, 128s; New Zealand, salted, USs; Australian, 117s. Cheese: White, G«'3s; coloured, 625. Both markets are* steady. DAIRY BOARD'S REPORT The New Zealand Dairy Board has received the following market report from its London office under date July 24 (last week's figures being given in parentheses):— Butter.—New Zealand, salted, 118s to 119s, equals approximately 14.1 id f.o.b. (J 15s to ] 17s); unsalted, 118s to 120s (117s to 118s). Deliveries: New Zealand, 1417 tons (last year, 1728 tons); in store, 4087 tons (last year, 7145 tons). Australian, salted, 116s to ll7s (114s to 116s); unsalted, 116s to 117s (115s to 116s). Deliveries: Australian, 1091 tons (last year, 1547 tons); in store, 3264 tons (last year, 8122 tons). Argentine, unsalted, 104s to 110s (105s to 106s). The market is firm. New Zealand retail price unchanged, Is Id and Is 2d. Danish, 106s f.0.b., 127s to 128s spot (107s and 127s to 128s); Dutch, unsalted, 109s to 112s (108s to 112s); Estonian, salted and unsalted, 112s (112s); Siberian, salted, 110s to 112s; Ukranian, salted, 110s to 112s (110s to 112s); Polish, salted, 106s to 108s; Polish, unsalted, 105s to 107s. The market is quiet. Danish retail price unchanged, Is 2d and Is 3d. The Imperial Kconomic Committee's estimate of stocks of all butters in store was 983,674 boxes (last year, 1,225,442 boxes).

Cheese.—New Zealand, white, 62s 6d to 635, equals approximately 7.01 d f.o.b. (62s to 62s 6d); New Zealand, coloured, 61s 6d to 625, equals approximately 6.88 d f.o.b. (61s 6d to 625). Deliveries: New Zealand, 18.383 crates (last year, 20,563 crates); in store, 89,123 crates (last year, 165,164 crates). Canadian, white, 70s to 72s (68s to 71s); coloured, 70s (70s); c.i.f. white, 61s (645); c.i.f. coloured, 63s (64s);' new season's white, 64s to 65s (645). Deliveries: Canadian, 4980 boxes (last year, 4057 boxes); in store, 59,163 boxes (last year, 45,704 boxes). English factory cheese, 58s. The market is steady. New Zealand retail price unchanged, 7d.

MINIMUM F. 0.8. PRICES NO CHANGE IN RATES Tho New Zealand Dairy Board has fixed minimum prices for f.o.b. and c.i.f. sales on tho basis of butter, 14d per 11)., and cheese, 63d, both unchanged. These rates are subject to agents' selling commission of li per cent, and are equivalent to butter, Ills 9d per cwt., c.i.f.c., and cheese, 57s 2d per cwt., c.i.f.e.
