THE HOSPITAL LEVY CONCERN OF THE COUNCIL Strong representations were made bv Mr. A. A Coates at the Onehunga Borough Council Hireling last night regarding the relief of ratepayers of some of the burden imposed by hospital boards. The Mayor, Mr. J. Park, was appointed the permanent delegate for tho Onehiinga Borough ('oiincil.

Objection was made to high charges for lighting tho streets and it was decided to support tho Ono Troo llill Borough Council in favour of a deputation to the Auckland Electric-Power Board urging a reduction. Four tenders wore received for tho romoval of refuse to the destructor. The lowest tender, that of Mr. Ij. C. White, £8 7s (3d a weok, was accepted.
