UNIVERSITY COUNCIL
STUDENT REPRESENTATION MORE MEMBERS WANTED Two motions aiming at an increased graduate representation on the Auckland University College Council were formally moved at a meeting of the council yesterday by Mr. A. K. Turner. The motions will bo discussed at the next mooting of the council. The first was: "That this council approves of the principle of increased graduate representation on the council and resolves that steps be taken forthwith to obtain legislative authority for the representation of the Court of Convocation on the council to be increased frotn four members to six." The second was: "That this council approves of the principle of the student body being represented directly on the council by a graduate elected for a term of two years by the Students' Association Executive, and resolves that steps bo taken forthwith to obtain legislative authority for this representation." - At the same timo letters from the clerk of the Auckland District Court of Convocation reported that resolutions to the same effect had been passed by the executive of the convocation, although in the second resolution the opinion that the Students' Association should bo represented "preferably by a graduate, but not necessarily one taking lectures," was expressed.
A letter from the president of the Students' Association also asked that the coifncil consider the question of student representation.
