OHINEMURI MINERS
UNION'S ANNUAL MEETING NOMINATION OF OFFICERS [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WAIHI, Monday The annual meeting of members of Ohinemuri Mines and Batteries Union was held on Sunday. Mr. W, Lynch, vice-president, presided. The report and accounts, which showed the union's affairs to be in a satisfactory Btate, were unanimously adopted, A discussion took place on the question of the rise in the price of commodities, and after members had protested against anything in the nature of exploitation it was decided to forward the views of the union on the subject to the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan.
Officers for the ensuing year, to bo balloted for on July 29, were nominated as follows:—President, Messrs. J Bincham, W. Lynch, J. Thorpe; vice-president, Messrs. S. Elliott, J. T. Harvey, T. McCluskie, ,J. Slevin; secretary and workmen's inspector, Messrs. W. Andrewartha, W. Bice, A. B. Cameron; treasurer. Mr. C. J. Cooper, G. Wilkins; management committee, Waihi representatives. Messrs. J. Clark, J. Dowse, A. Eklund, 1). Fahey, T. Hartwell, W. King, G. Leather, G. Lyall, W. Lawrence, T. McNamara, H. A. Pickett. F. Peacock (seven required); Waikino representatives, Messrs. H. Olney, C. \V. Cartell (three required); Owharoa representatives, Messrs. C. Ensor, F. Gilbert, A. Shadbolt (two required).
