GIFT TO BOROUGH

OUTPOST PA AT HAWERA [BY TKIjKGBAI'H—OWN COKIIESrONDKNT] HAWERA, Monday A generous gift has been made to the Hawera Borough of an area of nearly d-\ acres of land adjoining the ancient walled pa of Turuturu Mokai. This land contains the outpost pa, Te-umu-a-Tongahake, which is separated from the former by the lawhiti Stream. The earthworks consist of a double line of trenches and ramparts. The land was owned by the Nolan family, who live on an adjoining farm. They mot the negotiators in a liberal manner, and an anonymous donor handed the Mayor, Mr. -T. K Campbell, sufficient to complete the purchase.
