SCENIC ATTRACTIONS OF ROAD * [by telegraph—own correspondent] OPOTIKI, Sunday Apart from the construction of th< big Raukokore River bridge, it is the intention of the Government to build two other bridges on the Opotiki-Gis-borne highway, via Cape according to a statement by Mr. A. G Hultquist, M.P. for the Bay of Plenty The steel is on order for tho Karakatuwhero Stream bridge. Mr. Hultquist said he realised the necessity of a bridge across the Whangaparoa Stream, which would hold up traffic in wet weather. A number of other streams on the route also required attention, and when bridges over these were erected the road would attract tourists. During his trip over the new road he was impressed with the manv fine views

Mr. Hultquist added that the metalling of the last rlav portion 011 the road should he completed by the end of the present year.
