SERVICES AS SECRETARY
TRIBUTES TO MR. J. FINDLAY Warm tributes to the long service as secretary of the Auckland Manufacturers' Association of Mr. J. Findlay, who recently announced .his retirement, were paid on Friday at a special dinner attended by members of the committee of the Auckland Winter Exhibition. Mr. J. A. C. Allum, a copresident of the exhibition, who presided, made appreciative reference to Mr. Findlay's secretarial activities and, on behalf of his associates, presented Mr. Findlay with a canteen of cutlery. Several other speakers paid tributes to Mr. Findlay's work, and Mr. J. W.vlio, vice-president of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association, presented Mr. Findlay with an easy chair, a personal gift from Mr. S. Austin Carr, president of the association, who was unavoidably absent.
