OLD BOYS' RtUN I UIN PLEASANT RECOLLECTIONS The annual reunion of the Prince Albert College Old Boys' Association began on Saturday night with the annual business meeting, at which there was a good attendance, notwithstanding the inclement weather. The retiring president, -Mr. R. G. Entrican, was in the chair. The annual report showed the association to be in a vigorous condition. The roll number of Prince Albert College was stated to be 453, the College having been in existence for only ll years. Not more than 40 old boys are untraced and out of touch with the association. The question of resuscitating the college at some future date was given further consideration. A hadge for the association was approved. The following officers for the ensuing year were elected: —President-elect for 1937, Mr. N. 11. Jones; joint honorary secretaries, Messrs. L. E. Rhodes and C. Ballantyne; executive, Messrs. L. R. Brakenrig, P. S. Wallis, A. E. Lawry, T. H. Martyn, F. G. Blott, W. H. McKinney, W. Stephenson, L. Keals, P. Dellow, W. Brooksmith; president for the incoming year, Mr. P 11. Burton. The annual dinner followed. About 80 were present, the retiring president being again in the chair. In addition to " The King " two toasts were honoured, " Our Old School," proposed by Dr. J. H. Lawry, with responses by Messrs. H. E. Gilbert Smith and A. W. Short, masters of the old school, and "Kindred Associations,'" proposed by Mr. N. R. Jones, with responses by Messrs. A. B. Rainger (King's College), «l. V. Macky and A. Short (Grammar School),* G. Foy and D. G. Renn:l (Sacred Heart) and R. C. Clark (Wesley College). A large number of greetings by letter and telegram was received from absent members of the association.
In the course of the evening the chairman and others gavo interesting reminiscences of the school. It was reported that o per cent of the old boys of the college were killed in action in the Great War. Several speakers emphasised the desirability of the school's reopening. A programme of musical and elocutionary items was contributed by Mr. It. G. Simmers and Mr. D. Flood, Mr. A. Pow being the accompanist. The reunion concluded yesterday with the usual church parade and morning service at Pitt Street Methodist Church, at which there was a large attendance of-, members of the association. The Rev. E. D. Patchett conducted the service and the Rev. A. B. Chappell was the preacher.
