TRAVELLER CHARGED
THEFT OF TIN ALLEGED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] V/ELLINGTON, Wednesilny Charged with receiving at different times quantities of tin to the total value of £612, the property of the Railway Department, Douglas Charles Stevens, aged ;52, a metal traveller, appeared before Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., to-day. Evidence was given by Charles Bold, formerly in charge of the non-ferrous section of stores at the railway workshops at Hutt, who is serving a sentence for theft of tin. He alleged that thero wero various occasions on which accused received deliveries of tin for disposal. Accused and himself, he alleged, shared tho proceeds. Accused 'vtis committed to tho Supremo Court for trial. Bail was was fixed at- £2OO in two sureties of £IOO each.
