WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS

ALL CODES OF FOOTBALL MAJOR GOLF COMPETITIONS Attractive football matches have been arranged to take place in Auckland to-day, with a novel "soccer" match, Imperial Navy against tho Now Zealand Navy, as an attraction at Blandford Park. First grade contests also will bo decided, the most important lieing that between Thistle and Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys, to be played at Blandford Park. Ponsonby will meet Devonport in the principal fixture of the League code, the match to be played at Carlaw Park at 3 o'clock. Rugby supporters will take a keen interest in Technical Old Boys' attempt to defeat the hitherto undefeated Ponsonby team in tho principal contest at Eden Park. Golfers have been well catered for, ■with major competitions being decided at the larger courses. Tho first round of the Bloomfield Bowl contest will be played at Middlcmore and the first round for the Bnllin Cup will bo decided at Titirangi. Hockey matches will bo played at Remuera and Papatoetoe, with interest centring in tho meeting of Grammar Old Boys and Papatoetoe at Remuera. A marathon race of 26 miles will be conducted by the Auckland Harrier Racing Club and other clubs have also arranged runs. Cycling and basketball contests have also boon arranged.
