BAY OF PLENTY NEWS
A successful dance was he|d in the Otakiri Hall last week by the Otakiri Anglican Church congregation. The supper and other arrangements were in the hands of a ladies' committee comprising:—Mrs. Clarke, Mrs. G. Watson, Mrs. Cannell, Mrs. J. Beattie, Mrs. S. Tebbutt, Mrs. Flavell and Mrs. Malpas. Among those present were:— Mrs. W. Smedley (Onepu), Mrs. W. Hallett, Mrs. S. Partridge, Mrs. Sparks, Mrs. S. Blair, Mrs. K. Norriss, Mrs. J. McGuire, Mrs. K. Howath (Te Awamutu), Mrs. Littlejohn, Mrs. S. Bryant (Whakatane), Mrs. W. Woods, Mrs. Malpas, Miss N. McDonald, Miss S. Tebbutt, Miss Clarke. Miss P. Smedley (Onepu), Miss K. McCracken (fcdgecumbe), Miss K. Gow, Miss J. Peek, Miss M. Caulfield, Miss J. Freeman, Miss T. Laurent (Awakeri), Miss E. Laurent (Awakeri), Miss D. Topp, Miss J. Hall. , . Miss Noni Edmonds, of Opotiki, is the guest of Mrs. J. L. Burnett, Nukuhou North.
Mrs. J. Adams, of Taneatua, accompanied by Mrs. G. Lord, has left on a motor tour of the North. Mrs. S. Fullerton, of Tnneatua, haa returned from a holiday spent in Auckland. * Mrs. J. Waymouth, of Gisborne, who has been the guest of Mrs. H. Lynch, Taneatua, has returned to her home. Miss Myrtle Rae, of Taneatua, is spending a holiday with relatives at Waiuku. Mrs. J. Cole, of Auckland, is a visitor to Whakatane. Mrs. W. S. Bryand, of Hawke's Bay, accompanied by Mrs. S. Martin and Mrs. S. McKay, is visiting Whakatane. Mrs. J. Rae, of Napier, has been spending some weeks with her father, Mr. I. Downard, of Taneatua. Mrs. M. C. Gamble, of Katikati. is a visitor to Whakatane.
Mrs. L. Berg, of Taneatua, is visiting her mother, Mrs. J. S. Boon, at Stratford. An enjoyable dance was held by the Taneatua Manchester Unity Lodge in the Waimana Hall last Thursday evening. Dance music was supplied by a good orchestra and a popular extra was played by Mr. K. Howell, of Matata. A competition was won by Miss i. Graco, of faneatua. Supper was served by the ladies of the lodge. Among those present were: —Mesdames F. Bell, B. Hughes, Fleming, H. Bell, R. Wardlaw, Merrie (Taneatua), Spanhake, I. Savage, H. Anderson (Nukuhou), M. Woolfield, A. Burnett (Nukuhou), B. Tocker (Taneatua), G. Spanhake, E. Addison, E. Fleming, M. Ruff, S. Addison, M. Fleming, M. Wardlaw, N. Merrie (Taneatua), D. Mottram, S. Grover, J. Neilsen, M. Grover, E. Mitchell, I. Proffit. Mrs. P. Woolfield, of Waimana. is visiting Wellington. Mrs. J. Wardlaw is spending a holiday in Auckland. Miss M. Wardlaw is visiting Mrs. Merrie, of Taneatua. Miss M. Doran, of Nukuhou, is spending several weeks in Taranaki.
