UNCOVERED BY TIDE
MONEY AND GOLD FUNG
As the tide receded from the lower landing of the new concrete steps at the Wellington boat harbour recently, two octopuses were discovered resting there by the Harbour Board's workmen. These ugliy creatures, whose tentacles had a spread of about six feet, ■were promptly given the unhappy despatch, and their remains were cut up and returned to the waters of the harbour. Other men employed in grading the embankment, which consists chiefly of rubbish and slag, have found several pieces of money, 'including a two-shill-ing piece, and a gold ring.
