DEATH OF MR. GARDINER [BY TELEGBAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Wednesday The death has occurred of Mr. F. B. Gardiner, aged 67, senior inspector of the Health Department. Mr. Gardiner, who was born in Yorkshire, joined the Health Department in 1905, and was, therefore, associated with it from its earliest days. He was held in high respect bv the department and by sanitary inspectors employed by local bodies throughout New Zealand, having always taken a very keen interest in the efficiency of the service and its general welfare. In 1920 he and several other officers were associated in founding the New Zealand Sanitary Inspectors' Association. In 1934 he was instrumental in starting a special educational course for the benefit of health and sanitary inspectors. At the time of his death Mr. Gardiner was the secretary of the New Zealand branch of the Royal Sanitary Institute.
