INJURIES PROVE FATAL

MAN TWICE KNOCKED DOWN HAMILTON STREET ACCIDENT [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Friday The death occurred in the Waikato Hospital this morning of Mr. Alfred Bernard Scherer, aged 74, a farmer, of River Road, Hamilton, who was twice knocked down while walking across Victoria Street, Hamilton, on Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Scherer was first struck by a motor-cycle. He was not hurt, and when picking himself up he was knocked down again by a motor-car driven by a woman. He suffered severe injuries from which he died. Mr. Scherer was a married man with an adult family. An inquest was opened this morning and was adjourned.
