PROFESSIONAL SKATER
APP.EARANCES IN AMERICA Miss Sonia Henie, of Norway, who has won the Olympic skating championship three times», has become a professional. She has signed a contract to appear in a number of American cities for at least £20,000. Alter the tour is over she will probably appear in motion pictures. Miss Henie, although aged only 22 years, lias been one of the colourful personalities of skating for many years. JJlomle, graceful, she is a wizard on the ice, and slio also has a very pleasant manner. It was thought that hor undisputed claim to be the finest woman skater in the world would lapse at the winter Olympic .Games at GarmischPartenkirchen this year, but when the test came Sonja won again.
