CHANCES FOR DEVELOPMENT Many of the leading golfers overseas have graduated from the ranks of caddies, and while in New Zealand caddies have comparatively limited opportunities to develop their game, some of them have later become first-class players. W. Allbon, professional at the Masterton Club, who filled sixth place in the recent Wellington professional championship, was a tormer caddy at Heretaunga, and the son of the present professional at Heretaunga, G. Watt, ranks as one of the foremost professional players in the Dominion to-day. He also caddied at Heretaunga. Among tne amateurs L*. i'ustin, ranked fourth in the Hutt Club, was another who learned his golf as a caddy at Heretaunga. •
