BOXING AT OPOTIKI
TOURNAMENT NEXT MONTH OFFICERS OF ASSOCIATION [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] OPOTIKI, Tuesday The annual meeting of the Opotiki Boxing Association was held last night, Mr. T G. Johnson presiding over an attendance of 30 members. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The latter showed a credit balance ill the bank of £2O 14s Id, and a credit balance in the Post Office Savings Bank of £l3 9s. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. G. S. Moody; president, Mr. J. J. Moody; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. O'Sullivan, S. M. Jcphson. A. Stephenson, E. Oswald, H Larner, R. Walker, T. Hendry, E. Sargent and J. Starkey; secretary, Mr. T. Hickey; assistant secretary, Mr. D. Pearce; treasurer, Mr. H. Larner: committee, Messrs. C. Tabb, T. N. Hill, V. Mulhern, S. Jepheon. A. G. Stevenson, J. O'Sullivan, sen., and J- O'Sullivan, jun., C. Morris, W. Stevens. T. G. Johnson, P. Chambers, B Wolfenden, C. Butt and L. Mcintosh; honorary surgeons, Dr. Budd and Dr. Candy; honorary solicitor, Mr. M. B. Murray; honorary auditor, Mr. P. J. Fox; official trainer, Mr. B. Mulhern. The membership subscription was fixed at 10s. The first tournament will be held on May 20 or May 21. Mr. J. O'Sullivan, jun., was re-elected referee for the season. A canvas punch bag was donated to the association by Mr. O'Sullivan, jun.
