MOUNT EDEN CARNIVAL FRANKHAM BREAKS RECORD NEW TIME FOR 100 METRES Success in nil attack on N. Crump's Now Zealand record of 61 l-5s for 100 metres free-stylo was gained at the Mount Eden Amateur Swimming Club's carnival in the Tepid Baths last night by tho present national champion, R. B. Frankham, who sprinted tho distance in 61s. Frankham was timed at 17s for 33 l-3yds., 34 4-5s for 66 2-3 yds., and 54 4-5s for 100 yds. A disappointing attendance witnessed keen racing. The intcr-club relay championship for teams of intermediates and juniors resulted in a clos« victory for North Shore from Mount Eden. The Auckland divini champion, G. Berry, was defeated in the open neat header by a young diver, P. Cowley. Tho junior girl champion of Auckland, MiBB M.
