Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Donald returned from Wellington by train yesterday morning.
The Rev. R. J. Griffiths, of Paeroa has been appointed Moderator of tho Waikato Presbytery.
Mr. Justice Fair and Mr. Justice Callan were passengers for the south by th£ express last evening.
Mr. W. J. Grant, editor of the Rangoon Times, has arrived at Wellington from Sydney in the course of an Empire tour.
The Rev. J. Dennis, of the Hamilton East Methodist circuit, left yesterday for Levin. He will be succeeded by the Rev. G. E. Brown, of Dunedin.
Mr. H. H. Stewart, of Auckland, returned by the Rangitane yesterday after spending two years in England and the United States.
Sir Henry Horton and Lady Horton left by the limited express last evening for Wellington, where they will join the Rangitata for London.
Mr. J. A. 8.. Hell a by, who is to leave Wellington for England by the Rangitata to-morrow morning, left for the south by train last evening.
Mr. A. I. Johns, general manager of the New Zealand Insurance Company Limited, was a passenger from New Plymouth by train yesterday morning.
The Rev. H. T. Peat, of the Hamilton Methodist circuit, will leave to-dav for Upper Hutt. He will be succeeded by the Rev. R. B. Tinsley, of Auckland.
Mr. T. U. TVells and Mr. G. Grey Campbell left by train last evening for Palmerston North, where they will attend a meeting of the council of the Massey Agricultural College.
The Rev. H. S. I. Kenney, vicar of Foxton and Shannon, has been ap. pointed to St. Augustine's, Petone, in succession to the Rev. G. V. Gerard, the newlj'-appointed vicar of St. Matthew's, Auckland.
Mr. H. R. Minn, who has been appointed assistant professor of classics at Otago University, returned by the Rangitane yesterday after spending nearly two years in England. He took * a degree at London University and taught classics at the Merchant Tay. lor's School.
Mr. W. Goodfellow, managing director of Amalgamated Dairies, Limited, left for Wellington by train yesterday and will sail by the Rangitata tomorrow morning for London. Mr. Goodfellow will attend to various business interests in England, and expects to return in August.
Mr. C. E. Fenwick, an old boy of Christ's College and a graduate* of Canterbury University College, Tho has been working in the research laboratory of the British ThomsonHouston Electrical Company, at Rugby, has been appointed assistant, engineer to the Electricity Commissioners in London.
