AIRCRAFT ENGINES

BRISTOL FACTORY BUSY WORKING THREE SHIFTS DAILY (Received April 6, 7.55 p.m.) British Wireless RUGE'Y, April 5 Pegasus engines needed by Imperial Airways for Empire flying-boats to the number of 156 are being built at the works of the Bristol Aeroplane Company. Of these engines 116 are required for flying-boats now under construction at Rochester, and the remaining 40 are spare engines for substitution when overhauls are in progress. In the Bristol works 8000 men are engaged daily in three shifts, although only a small proportion are employed producing these particular engines.
