BIRKENHEAD ACTION , Tho Auckland Education Board advised the Birkenhead Borough Council last night that it had adopted the 7 recommendation of the senior inspector to decline the application for the , establishment of a. technical high school at Northcote. The senior inspector had pointed out that to allow of adequate accommodation, eqtiiprment and staffing, a technical high school should have at least 300 pupils "of Form 111 and higher. Northcote had only 99. It was decided to take up tho matter with the Minister of Education, asking for favourable consideration of the application, and pointing out that parents were sending their children to tho city because of the absence of facilities in the district.
