[raon OUR OWN correspondent] MATAMATA, Tuesday A sound financial position and a successful year's activity was disclosed at the sixth annual meeting of the Matamata Caledonian Society, held last night. A net profit of £25 was shown ' for the year. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. Hector Sutherland, sen.; ehief, Mr. W. John; chieftains, Messrs. W. Emslie, \V. A. McDonald, J. Millen; secretary, Mr. \V. S. Wilson; treasurer, Mr. J. Foggo; auditor, Mr. G. G. Griffiths; committee, Mesdamcs W. Quigg, W. J. Stanley, S. Stanley, J. Dobson, W. S. Wilson, Messrs. W. John, W. Emslie, W. A. McDonald, J. Milien, J. Foggo, W. S. Wilson. ' The committee was instructed to inquire into the possibilities of arranging finance for the building o£ a ball on tho section of land owned by the Bociety.
