j CONVICTION FOR ASSAULT A sequel to a disturbance in a house in Norfolk Street, Ponsonby, on Monday night, was the appearance in the Police Court yesterday of Allan Brown, ,aged 26 (Mr. Brvce Hart), on a charge of assaulting Edna Hills, aged 32. After evidence had been given of visits by accused and complainant to various city hotels on Monday afternoon, tlie magistrate, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, said that apparently too much !drink was the trouble. In view of his agreement to take out a prohibition order, accused would be ordered to come up for sentence in 12 months if called upon. The theft of a vacuum cleaner from a motor-car was admitted hv George Alfred Lowndes, aged 22. He was remanded for sentence until to-morrow.
